Tanduay Rhum Rockfest IV – The EPIC of BOUNCER’s VIOLENCE

I’m so excited to go to the event last night; in fact I don’t even know what to wear. First of all, I was shocked because all tickets are sold out in all 7/11 branches. Until I found one from Vito Cruz branch, they said they are still selling tickets for Tanduay Rhum IV. I went there even if it’s very late last Oct. 14, 2010.

When I’m there, they told me, “ Ma’am wala na po pala kaming stock ng tanduay or Cossack ( Ma’am we don’t have stock of Tanduay and Cossack)” I was like: WTF? !@#$%…. I told them, “Tumawag ako ng 2 beses para maka sigurado na makakabili ako ng ticket (I called you guys twice to make sure that I can purchase the ticket)”, I even told that I came all the way from a far place. Then I argued with them until they let me buy the 4 pcs of Gen. Admission Tickets without the Tanduay and Cossack blue. It cost me more than 300php to purchase the tickets without the drinks. Well I don’t really drink Tanduay, so it’s fine with me.

I went to the event with my 2 siblings, we have 4 tickets for General Admission, and then when we are there, there’s a very HUGE line…. HUGE like Pulp Summer Slam or Muziklaban.

That’s how people appreciate the event and expect too much. The line is different with female and male, and I started to line up with my other sister while my brother is on the other line.

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs904.snc4/71731_152149041493831_126702857371783_238893_7668565_n.jpg

When we are at the front of the line, the girl told me “VIP po dito miss, dun dapat kayo sa kabila (VIP here miss, you should be on the other side)” I didn’t notice, I really thought it was the Gen Ad because I saw another entrance which is VIP. I’m so pissed off, and then they told me to cross over but not to line up again, just to give the ticket to ticket collector on the other side.

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs028.snc4/33759_152149118160490_126702857371783_238895_988096_n.jpg

The funny thing is, IM ALREADY INSIDE! Why should I give the ticket? And for sure, since I am a female they can let me go over to the G.A. (Gen Ad) entrance but not my brother. So here is the thing, I ask the girl to stamp me on my left arm, so she did. So I had a stamp saying “VIP” and I ask her again to stamp me to my other my arm, then, I run so fast and try to find my brother real quick. The funny thing that I did is to stamp him the stamp that I got from my arm to his arm! Then, I pull him over, and we went inside the VIP entrance without hassle.

When we are inside, I saw the faces and the eagerness of the people inside the GA. I was like, I should be on that crowd. The VIP divider to GA was very huge, like people in GA can’t enjoy the event anymore cause they are too far from the band who’s performing. Normally, it’s great to have a moshpit when you are near the band rather than far away and cant see anything but the TV screen.

So far, everything is going good. I take some photos from people in the GA.

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs828.snc4/68824_152153011493434_126702857371783_238927_1005589_n.jpg

Later on, they got irritated, and started the Gatecrash. Gatecrash is usually the term where people from the event start to crash the gate to go through. The funny thing is, it usually happens whenever they are outside and don’t have any tickets. On Tanduay Rhum, they started to crash the small gate divider between VIP and GA.

The first gatecrash was unsuccessful. It happened when they decided to pull over the females to go inside the VIP. Some people got caught by the ridiculous bouncers and they started to hit them. The second is a failure too, but that time there are so many people from GA already in the VIP section and it started to become crowded. After few minutes, I’m trying to record some video from people in GA side.

The third gatecrash one is one of the worst I’ve seen after so many years. The last time I saw the violence was the bouncer hit one of my friends in UP Fair back last 2005. Now, I saw how they violate the House Rules.

According to Tanduay Rhum Rock Fest IV House Rules:
• Excessively rowdy behavior will not be tolerated.
• The organizer reserves the right to accost audience members whose behavior is deemed a threat to the safety of the general public.
• Violators of the abovementioned house rules shall be immediately ejected from the venue.

Bouncers are meant to stop people who lead misbehavior. They receive the right to accost the audience. Meaning, to stop them but not to hurt them physically, kick them and give them a commanding punch. Bouncers are meant to approach the audience and automatically eject them.

The audience from GA do the gatecrash to enjoy the event. Although they violate the house rules, they don’t deserve to hurt by bouncers and treat them like a punching bag.

The Event is not well organized. And according to the voice of audience, it is really poorly organized and the host is truly bored. I admit that, only a few people follow their directions! Example, they asked the whole crowd to make a toast in the air. Out of 100% people less than 50% followed! There are so many people on my side who didn’t follow them.

Another thing, as mentioned above, I said all tickets are sold out. The funny thing is they make more than the people can enter the venue. Let’s say around 30-40k people are only the people can get through. They over SOLD the maximum amount of tickets than they should have.

Tons and tons of people are complaining that after the huge line, bouncers or organizer will tell them that they can’t go inside because the event venue is FULL!

What an epic fail right? Do Tanduay Rhum RockFest IV care to give satisfaction to audience? Or they care for their own benefits?

Only few people enjoy the event. And if I’ll rate this compare to the entire Event I went,
7/10 for the chosen bands
2/10 for the event organizers
4/10 for the Tanduay Rhum who’s selling their drink inside
3/10 for Foods inside.

Total of 4 out of 10…

EGiPlay 2010 @ Starmall, Edsa – September 4, 2010

Yesterday, September 4, 2010 I went to EGi Play 2010 at Starmall, Edsa – Philippines. Traveling almost 2 hours away from home through MRT and LRT Station to be part of the Rappelz Launch Party Event.

The event was well organized and everyone had a blast. I had a great time talking to the event organizer, however If they hadn’t run out of T-shirts before I got to the front of the line, it would have been a perfect outing T__T.

Hostage taking @ Quirino Grandstand – August 23, 2010

Hostage Taking @ Quirino Grandstand

What happened?

Former Senior Inspector Rolando Mendoza, reportedly committed a terrorist act by taking 25 hostages who were Chinese/Hongkong Nationals including the Filipino Driver and Photographer.

According to the victims, Mendoza asked if he can board the Tourist Bus at the Intramuros. He’s wearing a navy suit with his gun (So who wouldn’t let him in? That’s how Filipinos respect a stranger wearing a navy suit?)

When the bus reached Rizal Park, near the stage where President Noynoy Aquino took his oath last June 30, 2010, he incredibly declared that he was taking the Bus Hostage with his M-16 and 45 Caliber Pistols.

Who was Rolando Mendoza? He was a former Policeman with a good record, considered as one of the most outstanding Police officers in the late 1990′s and served the government for 20 years. However, a guy named Christian Kalaw filed a case against Mendoza including 4 other police officers related to robbery extortion. In late 2009, Mendoza had been removed from his position because of this extortion incident.

The Hostage situation started around 10:00am, August 23, 2010. Towards the afternoon, a few hostages had been released. Mendoza asked a reporter to become his negotiator but the Police Officers wouldn’t let the media come near the Bus just lik the civilians.

Mendoza’s wife and daughter went to the place where the Hostage taking was happening and asked the Police officers if they can go to the Bus and talk to Mendoza, but again the Police officers won’t let them.

Mendoza is asking for a result from the Ombudsman, “I want a decision on my case to be delivered by the following people,” according to a former partner and co-policeman, Mendoza was a nice guy and good at his job and because of losing his position, it lead him to perform this hostage takeover of a Tourist bus, in order to send his message to everyone and clear his name once and for all.

Eventually, the Driver escaped, and he told everyone outside that all Hostages were dead!

Around 8:30pm, tear gas had been released inside the Bus and then continuous gun shots rang out. 1 Civilian near the area was accidentally hit by a bullet on his leg.

A few minutes later, a sniper gun shoots Mendoza – dead!

All of the hostages are brought outside one by one, but unfortunately most are dead bodies.

One of the Hostage Victims who survived.

There are 6 Victims brought to Manila Hospital who were still reported alive, but according to the Dr., 2 Victims are dead upon arrival.

In my opinion, the police screwed up by firing their weapons before they knew that the gunman was dead. So many people died because of their mistake, but we will probably never know exactly how many or will justice really be served.

Let’s pray for the people who died because of this incident and hope that they will get their peaceful mind with Gods embrace.

President NoyNoy Aquino Inauguration (Behind-the-scenes)

Hello everyone ^_^

Melanie “Thyrene” Paz here, on the scene of Rizal Park, where the Quirino Grandstand hosts the inauguration of this countries new President.

Because I love our great country, I traveled through rain and bad weather, along with my Cameraman sidekick brother “Myles” Paz (Images that include me are taken by him). I wanted to give everyone an inside look at the preparation for this pivotal event in our countries history.

Benigno Aquino III will be sworn in as President on these very grounds, truly an inspiring event for every Filipino to behold.

I met some really nice staff and professionals who were preparing for the Inaugural event, including film crews. They were very nice and let me take some behind-the-scenes photos of them setting up.

The people in charge of the main stage area were very considerate, and let me take pics of the places where our new President will take an oath in person.

It was so exciting and amazing to be standing on the very stage, a day before Benigno Aquino III is sworn in as the new President of the Republic of the Philippines.

Location: Quirino Grandstand, Manila Philippines
