The Philippine NLEX – North Luzon Express Way

This is a 5 minute video of NLEX in the Philippines. I’m on my way to Manila and decided to record some video using my Nikon Coolpix s70. Hope you enjoy the view.

Here is where I’m sitting down while taking the footage.

After arriving Balintawak, I ride a jeepney with signage “Monumento” to go to the NBI Clearance to renew my NBI. I will separate the Blog of how I processed my Clearance and guide as well.

After getting my clearance I head to Caloocan City Hall to see if the line of getting NSO is not long, but as I expected there’s a very huge line. I decided to back off :) and just take some photos of City Hall.

Here’s an image of City Hall from the Balcony, with the Philippine Flag.

And my shoes are new, I don’t know if they are good or not and sooner rather than later I had a blister on my toe which made me decide to go home cause I can’t walk anymore, it hurts a lot.

Here’s the image of my foot with blisters.

How to get a Mayor’s Permit?

How to get a Mayor’s Permit?

This tutorial will help you to get your own Mayor’s Permit. Please be reminded that some Cities have different requirements. The majority of them need the same thing.

Basic Requirements for a New Business

This is an image of  the Basic Requirements sample for when you are planning to get a Mayor’s Permit in Caloocan City. I have my own Business Permit in Bulacan, the difference between them is the requirement number 6.

–                    Inside view

–                    If you complete the requirements, the next step is to go the BPLO (Business Permit and Licensing Office) in your City Hall. Here’s the sample of an Application form

Sample Application Form

I processed my Mayor’s Permit in Bulacan since the apartment that I moved to is Commercial/Residential.  Here’s my step by step experience.

1. Completing all the documents and submit it to BPLO for verification.

2.  After verifying, I went to City Engineering Office. There, I draw the map location of my Business + how big is my area (Sq. meters).

3. They will ask you to pay the Certificate of Electrical Inspection and Inspection Fee – Engineering. You are going to pay it to OIC-CITY Treasurer in your City Hall. One of the Engineers will come visit your place and inspect your area. If there is no questions, they will sign your papers.

4. Go to Sanitary. You will need to give them your paper and they will sign it, not much of a hassle. It’s a certificate for Sanitary Permit to Operate.

5. Go to BFP (Bureau of Fire Protection). Normally, BFP needs to inspect your place before they sign your document. You will be required to buy a Fire Extinguisher. As for me, I work from home and am only using my computer to operate my business. By the way, they won’t sign that until you are done with zoning.

6. Go to Zoning Office of your City Hall. The first 5 was easy, this one has more requirements than the previous ones submitted. You need to show the Zoning Diagram to the Officer, see here for an example: http://www.docstoc.com/docs/33029984/ZD1-Zoning-Diagram—Sample should include the Bldg. Permit, Engineer, Sketch etc.,

7. After the zoning approves your files, and signs your paper, you will head back to the BFP then they will sign your file and Issue you a certificate. Remember that it depends on your Business whether they do an inspection or not. If you are opening a Sari-sari store, normally it doesn’t need to be inspected.

8. Go back to the BPLO and show that you already have done the process, they will verify it again and if everything is fine, you will need to pay the following:

a. Your Business (Contractor/Services/Wholesaler/Retailer)

b. Mayor’s Permit Fee

c. Sanitary Fee

d. Service Fee

e. Local Fire Inspection Fee

f. Business Plate

Prices vary depends on your business. They will release your Business License within 1-3 working days.
